Our Story
Kailira was born from a lifelong love of creativity and the desire to build something meaningful.
I was born in Mexico and moved to the United States as a child, growing up between cultures that shaped who I am today. As a first-generation college graduate, I worked hard to follow a path I thought I was supposed to take—but deep down, I always felt called to create.
I’ve been making things for as long as I can remember. At just 10 years old, I taught myself how to sew by turning old shirts into doll dresses. Over time, that passion grew into creating candles, soaps, and eventually scrunchies—each one made by hand with care and intention.
Scrunchies became especially meaningful to me because they are both beautiful and practical—something you can wear every day. I take pride in handpicking each fabric, learning about its quality and origin, and turning it into something that feels special.
Kailira is more than a brand—it’s a reflection of my journey, my love for my family, and my passion for creating. Through this work, I hope to inspire, my children, women and young girls to embrace their creativity, honor their stories, and build something of their own.
